Detention Officers oversee the proper and safe booking, release, and holding of the prisoners. In addition to caring for prisoners, Detention staff complete appropriate paperwork, utilize jail equipment, and assist with maintaining inventory supply levels. Typical work schedule is three 12-hour shifts and one four hour shift per week.
High School diploma or GED equivalent; no experience required; and must obtain Basic Jail Certification and State Intoxilizer Certification within one year of employment as a condition of continued employment.

The center utilizes the Spillman CAD system, answers emergency and non-emergency calls, enters and removes from the TLETS/NLETS system, and oversees radio communication for North Richland Hills, Haltom City, Richland Hills, and Watauga. Typical work schedule is four consecutive ten hour shifts, with three consecutive days off. Rotating through all shifts is required during training.
Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License; Type 35 words per minute corrected. High School Diploma/GED equivalent. One year in dealing with the public, providing customer service, dispatch or related experience. EMD Certification, CPR Certification, Telecommunications Certification, and TCOLE Basic Dispatch Certification within one year of employment as a condition of continued employment.
This position requires a typing test with a minimum typing score of 35 words per minute.

Crossing Guard

This position will be responsible for the supervision of School Crossing Guards. This position will schedule, evaluate and assist crossing guards as well as report to each school on a rotating schedule. This position will also assist with the deployment and retrieval of radar trailers and speed sensors and assist the traffic Sergeant with clerical work as necessary.
Schedule is 5 hours per day Monday through Friday (25 hours per week).

Applicants must have experience in interpreting numerical research data.
Valid Texas Class C Driver's License; Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in public administration, criminal justice, police administration, or related field. Equivalent police service will be considered in lieu of formal education.
